Can You Explain To Us The Term “Apocalypse?”
(Part 6 of 7)
Q: Can You Explain To Us The Term “Apocalypse?”
A: [Actually] The word “APOCALYPSE” is derived from the Greek word apocalupsis which means to reveal or to uncover something, such as the phrase taken from the Book of Revelation 6, “The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse.”
Throughout the Books of Revelation, Daniel, Isaiah, and a few others, the reader is introduced to “apocalyptic literature,” which is primarily used to describe various images, symbols, and numbers, as they relate to end time/future events. [Think of it as our modern day novels of mysteries and suspense: written to keep you on the edge of your seat – because it’s exciting to read. This is the same principle for a Child of God, reading the prophetic books of the Bible.]
In Conclusion: The Bible reveals that the “APOCALYPSE” will be the final disclosure of knowledge from God, dealing with His judgment, His justice, and, His LOVE, upon those who established their own plan of Redemption – WORKS and rejected His plan of Salvation – His Son (Jesus, The Christ), as outlined in sacred Scripture.
