Q: Dr. Mike, Do You Believe That God Speaks To Us Today In An Audible Voice?

Q: Dr. Mike, do YOU believe that God speaks to us [today] in an audible voice??

A: Now that is indeed a ‘good’ question, since I too have heard tele-evangelists say that the Lord has spoken to them audibly: and one noted healing ministry in particular, makes that claim, and it is why noted theologians and Bible scholars take offense when he says it!I honestly, can’t say for sure whether God has or not; but as I spend quality time studying the Word of God, I’ve come to the conclusion that, when God was giving direct communication of divine revelation to a specific individual, the occurrences (in scripture) of the audible voice of God being used, were extremely rare. I make this declaration based on the three times in the New Testament that God spoke audibly, about His son Jesus. The ONLY other incident is when He spoke to Paul on the road to Damascus, that’s recorded in the Book of Acts. My conclusion on the matter is this: We have 66 books that make up the Word of God, and if He has anything to say to us, it will come as a confirmation of what the Spirit of the Living God is saying to our hearts, through the Word of God.
