Q: What Is The Christian View Of Evolution?
Q: Dr. Mike, what is your view or should I say, what should the Christian view of EVOLUTION be?
A: Like most noted theologians and Bible scholars, I too believe that there is no single view of the subject matter, anywhere, out there. As intelligent as mankind is, even in his ‘spiritual deadness,’ it’s very hard for me to believe that he actually believe, that through chance, explosions, or whatever, there were mutations, from a single cell to more complex life forms. We know it better as a cosmic accident.
There is no way on God’s green earth that a true (born again) Christian can believe that he/she is a cosmic accident and at the same time believe in the sovereign God and the creator God. As I stated before, in a series of teaching notes, that a true Christian is one who affirms not only Christ the Redeemer but God the Creator. And like the Apostle Thomas, is someone that affirms both.
I affirm what one great theologian stated, he said, “All Christians, Jews, and Muslims historically have made it a central article of affirmation that this world and all the people in it are the result of a divine act of creation. As far as Christianity is concerned, if there’s no creation, then there’s nothing to redeem.”
