About Us

Dr. Michael Jones (aka Dr. Mike) was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He later attended North Carolina Central University (N.C.C.U.) where he received numerous achievement awards, such as The National Dean’s List and an Internship from the North Carolina State Governor’s Office, before graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Afterwards, he accepted a position here in the Washington Metropolitan Area with the United States Department of Commerce, where he was employed for 34 years.

Through rigorous course studies, he received [both] his Doctorates of Theological Studies and Biblical Studies/Christian Apologetics, as well as a Certificate of Christian Counseling; all degrees from Logos University in Jacksonville, Florida; Dr. Mike also serves on the Board of Adjunct Professors of Logos University, where he mentors undergraduate and post graduate students through their rigorous degree programs.

Currently, Dr. Jones serves as Senior Minister of Teaching for Https://TeachingMinistryofDrMike.org; and along with his wife [Dr. Altheria] as Elders with the Abundant Life Christian Church (ALCC) in Lanham MD. Previously, he served as, Minister of Teaching, for the Free Gospel Churches of Christ, where he had been a member for over 41 years. During his tenure, he also served as Chairman of the Board of Ministers & Elders, OBICA Bible College’s Academic Dean [Emeritus] and Professor of Theology & Biblical Studies and Christian Apologetics.

He’s a conference speaker and the author of over 100 teaching manuals, (including Commentaries on The Book of Revelation, The Epistles of John – First/Second/Third, and the Epistle of Jude), with some translated into Spanish: throughout the year, he uses a majority of the manuals to conduct Saturday seminars for various (denominational/non-denominational) ministries, upon their request. When asked what is his greatest achievements from his teaching ministry, thus far, he replied, “First, hearing people say that they have kept in remembrance a number of things I’ve taught them over the years, and are now sharing Biblical wisdom to family and friends; Secondly, being asked to send a number of my teaching resources to the men and women serving overseas, as well as getting teaching resources requests from [Mother] Africa; Thirdly, welcoming nearly 80,000 visitors to the ministry site because of sound biblical teaching resources; And fourthly, having my ‘Spiritual Nuggets’ Newsletter read by subscribers from various parts of the world.”

He is married to Dr. Altheria Washington Jones (affectionately known as “Dr. AJ”) who passionately shares his vision for the work of ministry. She also received her Doctor of Ministry: Christian Counseling Degree from Logos University. They have three wonderful children; and reside in the Maryland Capital Area.

Dr. Altheria Washington Jones is a native-born Washingtonian. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications Science from Howard University, Master’s Degree in Education Technology from Gallaudet University, Master’s equivalency in Library Science, and a Doctorate Degree in Ministry (D.MIN): Concentration in Counseling
from Logos University (2016).

She is a retired School Library Media Specialist where she worked for 30 years for the Montgomery County Public Schools, Rockville, Maryland. She was also the first Director of the George B. Thomas Learning Academy Mentoring Program in Montgomery County at John F. Kennedy High School.

She was one of four women that were first ordained to Ministry at Free Gospel Deliverance Temple Church in 2011 by the late Apostle Dr. Ralph E. & First Lady Dr. Shirley M. Green. She was installed as the First Evangelist of the Free Gospel Deliverance Temple Church where God opened doors for her to ministry throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. She has also authored two mini books titled:
Is America on Fire: Has God Abandoned Her? And, Weep No More, God Has Paid It Forward She and her husband, Dr. Mike Jones recently co-authored and released a new book titled: The Doctrine of Election: Chosen by God. Her MP3/4 Videos includes such titles as: Work the Word; You Can’t Take Jesus Out of the Equation; Will the Real Passionate Disciples Please Stand Up; and many more titles. In addition, she is gifted in editing books, papers, etc.

As a gifted speaker, teacher, counselor, and known to many as an ‘Encourager,’ using the gift of humility, she has a deep love and compassion for people. God uses her to teach, minister and encourage those who are lowly in heart; as well as minister to those having a difficult time accepting the challenges of life, and those who feel like giving up.

She often visits those who are in hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation centers, home visits, etc. praying and ministering the word of God. Another one of her greatest joys is to volunteer at a large pantry in the Silver Spring Maryland area – seeing God’s people being blessed and being a yielded vessel to others she works alongside. She continues to be an advocate for children and education and for those who do not have a voice of their own.

Dr. Jones served 35 years as a faithful member of the Free Gospel Deliverance Temple Church Organization, in such capacities as: Academic Dean of Open Bible Institute for Christian Apologetics (O.B.I.C.A. an affiliate of Logos University); Chairperson for the Young Christian Women’s Auxiliary (Y.C.W.A.); Member of the Official Board of Ministers & Elders; Intercessory prayer warrior; Armor-bearer (First Lady Green); Recording secretary for Y.W.C.A. Currently, she serves as a lead Minister at Abundant Life Christ Church, Member of the Official Board of Ministers, and Co-lead to New Believers Class.

She has humbly accepted God’s call upon her life to further advance the Kingdom of God and to teach and minister to God’s people. Her desire is to bless the Lord at all times! God uses her through visions and dreams and through the fruits of her own trials. She believes in her heart–that she is of more value for the Kingdom of God than ever before.
One of her favorite scriptures: Job 3:10, “But He knoweth the way I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

Drs. Michael and Altheria Jones have been married for 20 years. They share together in marriage three children; and reside in the Maryland capital area.
