Description

The inception of the World Wide Web and then later, the exponential industry growth of high-tech handheld devices have been a great blessing to the Body of Christ, in terms of being able to do serious research of biblical interpretation of various scriptures. However, in the same breath, I won’t hesitate saying that, these devices have also been detrimental to the growth, of a segment of the church population. Why do I make such a BOLD statement? It is because these two major research tools, have also made some of us slothful (lazy), in terms of physically opening up the Bible, and having the Holy Spirit to minister unto us.

We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster. (Proverbs 16:1-4)

Psalm 119:111 “I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Pastor Jack Wellman sums it up best, with this statement: “This might be the single greatest Bible verse in Scripture that tells us the reason we are to hid God’s Word in our hearts, which can be thought of as memorizing Scripture. The psalmist says that he stored up God’s Word in his heart in order that “I might not sin against” God. That’s a key verse because it tells us why we memorize Scripture. The purpose of recalling Scripture from memory is that it can help us avoid sin and that’s always a huge positive.”
