WISE AND FOOLISH VIRGINS!

THE WISE AND FOOLISH VIRGINS! (Matthew 25:1-13)
Dr. Mike Jones
The parable of “The Wise And Foolish Virgins” has important lessons to be learned: especially about the Second Coming of the Lord, and we need to be watchful for that great event!

What are the key elements in the Parable? Ten virgins (5 wise & 5 foolish) go out with lamps to await the arrival of the bridegroom. But 5 of them, their oil is running out and the bridegroom is soon to arrive. They plead with the wise virgins to share their oil, but they refused; they go out hunting for oil and the bridegroom arrives!

So the message in the parable is clean: Be watchful and be ye also ready, for ye know not the hour when the Lord will come, as Apostle Paul indicated, in 1Thessalonians 5:1-6, “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night …”

The parable also indicates to believers that we’re to be wise in our preparations for Christ’s return, and while waiting, grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord. And like the wise virgins could not share their oil with the foolish virgins, nor can WE share our SALVATION that we have received from the Lord, with someone else – (Like US, they must receive it directly from the Lord Himself). Even the Old Testament has something to say about it, in Psalm 49:7, “None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him.” And Revelation, Chapter 20 says it best, that we EACH must have our OWN name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life!

If He returned TODAY, how would He find YOU: prepared or unprepared?
